Our Executive Team

Garry McGrechan
Garry McGrechanInterim Chief Executive Officer

Garry joined the Baptistcare Board in April 2011 and has been chair since October 2011. He currently owns and manages an electrical engineering company that services the mining and infrastructure industries. Garry was previously on the board of an ASX-listed multi-disciplined project and engineering company for four years and was Chairman of the Parkerville Baptist Church for 13 years until 2015.

Garry was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer in January 2017.

Russell Bricknell
Russell BricknellChief Executive Officer – Elect

Russell has an extensive background in the aged care and community services sector, holds degrees in education, science and a masters in business administration, is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

He was previously the Chief Executive of Aged Care Channel, overseeing operations in Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand. Prior to this role, Russell was Chief Operating Officer of Australian Home Care, a leading provider of home based care to people with disabilities in NSW and Victoria, General Manager of BaptistCare NSW and ACT, and Executive Director of Churches of Christ Care in Queensland.

Russell has a passion for delivering high quality care that positively impacts the lives of residents, customers and their families. He is honoured and excited to have been selected to lead Baptistcare and together, with the team, looks forward to making a real difference in the lives of people we care for and support.

Russell lived in Perth as a child, was educated in Queensland and will relocate from Sydney with his wife, Kerryn. One of his adult children will move to Perth whilst the other will remain in Sydney to pursue her tertiary studies. His parents were Baptist missionaries. Russell has attended many Baptist churches (including Yokine and Lesmurdie as a child) and has recently been attending Hillsong Church in NSW.

Russell will join Baptistcare as Chief Executive Officer in April 2017.

John Frame
John FrameChief Finance Officer
After graduating from Rhodes University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree, John spent several years in the Rhodesian Air Force. He then trained with Price Waterhouse as a chartered accountant.

He is an experienced senior executive, having held executive and board director roles in public and private companies across the aged care, finance, funds management, venture/seed capital, IT and Biotech industries.

Since 2005 John has been a Finance Executive in the aged care industry and joined Baptistcare in September 2015 in the role of Chief Finance/Capital Works Officer with responsibilities for Finance, Treasury, Capital Works and Maintenance, Procurement and Retirement Villages.

He is also a director of a Private Equity company and The WA Youth Jazz Orchestra, and is a published author.

Amanda Vivian
Amanda VivianChief Support Services
Amanda brings significant expertise and strong commitment to Baptistcare’s Vision of transforming and enriching lives in our communities.

With a degree in Financial Services, she is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a fellow of Leadership WA. Previously the Chief Operating Officer at Bankwest, she has a wealth of experience working with senior executive teams on a number of critical activities including developing a risk and values based culture, running the HR function and supporting the organisation on their people agenda.

Amanda heads the HR, Payroll, Governance and Risk, PR and Marketing, and Strategic Planning functions at Baptistcare, providing strong focus and leadership in these areas.
